Charisma Carpenter is an American actress, best known for her iconic role as Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–1999) and its spin-off Angel (1999–2004). Born on July 23, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she has a background in classical ballet and was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She first gained attention with her role in Malibu Shores (1996), but it was her portrayal of Cordelia that launched her into the spotlight. After Buffy and Angel, Carpenter appeared in numerous television shows, including Veronica Mars and Charmed, as well as films like The Expendables series. Beyond her acting career, she has spoken openly about surviving a traumatic attack in 1991, which she later detailed in the show Surviving Evil. Carpenter is also known for her advocacy work, raising awareness about mental health and domestic violence.
